Our sisters
continue ministering to people through mail or in person to visitors.
Often they are on the phone talking to and comforting others.
Prayer, meals, reading, exercise, and table games fill their days,
as well. The sisters offer their lives of illness, aches, pains,
and diminishments to help fill up what is lacking in the suffering
Body of Christ.
Marian Residence, originally a residence for student nurses, became
the home and retirement dwelling for our elderly sisters in August,
1987. The Sisters of St. Francis came to Alliance, Nebraska in
1908 to operate and teach at St. Agnes Academy. We also opened
and operated St. Joseph Hospital.
Since
then, there have been many changes. Our latest improvement was
in 1999 when the old gym was converted into a bright and spacious
multi-use area used for dining, Mass, funerals, meetings, and
jubilee meals for our sisters' relative and friends. Also, second
floor has been converted into a skilled nursing facility.

like to send the sisters at the Marian Residence a prayer request,

wish to contact a sister, send a message to the Marycrest
Franciscans.
