Center Mission Statement |
 |
|
Wisdom Center, a ministry of the Marycrest
Franciscans, aims to challenge those in the second half of life
to a deeper spirituality and to
new ways of service. The Wisdom Centers staff seeks to combine
the insights of the Conscious Aging Movement with our Christian
and
Franciscan heritage for the benefit of elders of all religious traditions.
As needs emerge, we stand ready to provide short-term and long-term
programs, group work, and individual support. |
The program we follow
in the first half of life
is woefully inadequate in the second.

| Why?
|
|
Americans today are living longer and healthier lives than ever
before. Why has God given us these additional years? How can we
be good stewards of this gift? These are the questions we want
to explore at Wisdom Center.
How can these additional years become a time of inner growth,
a spiritual adventure? How can we become wise elders? How can
we who are elders become a life-giving force in a world that badly
needs our wisdom? Wisdom Center aims to draw together elders of
all faith traditions who are asking these questions. Please join
us in the adventure of becoming wise elders and finding our place
as elders in the world.
Youths grow tired and weary
But those who hope in God will renew
their strength, they will soar as with
eagles wings.
They will run and not grow weary,
walk and not grow faint.
